Casual Veterinary Nurses at Vetfriends Chatswood
Are you a passionate, skilled Vet Nurse who enjoys a challenge, working with a variety of species, providing gold-standard patient care and is excited at the thought of working on a brand-new team in a large purpose-built GP clinic? We’re looking for Vet Nurses to join our talented and growing, dynamic team at Chatswood Vetfriends on a casual basis.
Vetfriends Chatswood is a purpose-built clinic, which opened its doors in 2005. Our focus is to improve our patients’ quality of life by providing gold-standard care, with the latest knowledge and equipment, whilst keeping our clients educated about their pets’ health through effective and personable communication. We have a loyal, returning client base with beautiful patients, many of whom are insured, and we work closely with surrounding specialist hospitals. If you’re a cat lover, you’re in for a treat! We are a gold-certified cat-friendly clinic with a separate cat waiting area/cat consult room/cat ward/cat boarding, and we have a key focus on our feline & rabbit friends!
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified Cert IV or equivalent Veterinary Nurse
- 2+ years of nursing experience with strong experience handling a variety of medical & surgical cases, and confidence in general anaesthesia
- A positive attitude, a real team player and excellent communication skills.
- A genuine passion for patient care and a commitment to providing the best service to our clients and their pets.
- Experience handling exotic species is advantageous, but training can be provided
About The Role
- Personable and professional customer service.
- Surgical patient prepping, monitoring, and recovery
- General anaesthesia (in-depth training will be provided where required).
- Assistance with internal ultrasonography and external ultrasound specialist service.
- Hospital nursing care for day patients (no inpatients are kept in overnight and are transferred to OOH ECC).
- Performing triage service, standard nurse consultations, and animal restraint.
- Intravenous catheter placement and blood sample collection.
- Radiography, dental radiography (for those with a license) and dental nursing
- Inpatient care of hospital day patients
- In-house pathology
- Veterinary consultation assistance i.e., restraining for ultrasound, ear cleaning, pathology sampling, venipuncture etc.
- General nursing and boarding duties
- Some shared reception/front of house and administration tasks
