Surgical Technologist – Full-Time
Coastal Surgery Center
About the Position:
Coastal Surgery Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team in a full-time role at our provider-owned ambulatory surgery center. Schedule:

No weekends or on-call shifts
Position Summary:
The Surgical Technologist prepares surgical instruments and supplies, assists the surgeon during procedures, and supports safe and effective use of surgical and anesthesia equipment. This role also includes central processing responsibilities, including sterilization, inventory management, and quality control.
You will serve as a key member of our surgical team, helping ensure the highest standards of patient care and operating room efficiency.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields following aseptic techniques

Assist surgeons during operative procedures

Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment

Maintain accurate records of sterilization and inventory processes

Support the surgical team with patient positioning, supply setup, and room turnover

Collaborate with staff to manage inventory for surgical and anesthesia supplies

Conduct daily quality control and equipment checks

Adhere to all clinical policies, procedures, and safety standards
-
Promote a team-based approach to surgical care and patient advocacy
-
Contribute to ongoing Quality and Risk Management initiatives
Qualifications:
-
Graduate of a 2-year accredited Surgical Technology program
-
Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required

Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, especially in a multi-specialty surgery setting

Strong knowledge of sterilization principles and central processing procedures
Physical Requirements:

Must have visual and auditory acuity to assess patient needs and respond promptly
-
Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly during procedures
-
Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting:
-
Up to 50 lbs occasionally
-
Up to 20 lbs frequently
-
Up to 10 lbs constantly
-
-
May need to exert up to 100 lbs of force in rare patient care activities
-
Capable of assisting with patient transport and performing CPR if needed
Occupational Exposure:

Category I risk for exposure to bloodborne pathogens

Possible exposure to chemicals and radiation hazards

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from a surgical tech two-year program. Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
- Experience in a multi-specialty surgical environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Requires high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care assessment activities. Frequent overhead and low reaching and bending. Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, to stand for long periods, and to exert a force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up-to 10 lbs. constantly. All patient care activities may require the ability to exert a force of up to 30 lbs. constantly, up to40 lbs. occasionally and up to 100 lbs. rarely. Ability to assist with the transport of patients, and supplies in and out of the surgical area as needed. Ability to perform Cardio-Pulmonary-Resuscitation if indicated.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE: Category I exposure to blood-borne pathogens, exposure to chemical and/or radiation hazards.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year (Preferred Minimum)
EDUCATION & LICENSE:
- Graduation from a surgical tech two-year program. Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist. (CST)
- Experience in a scrub role in a multi-specialty surgical environment is preferred.
