Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Manager
Location: St. Louis, MO (Primarily Local – Minimal Travel)
Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried
Schedule: Over 40 Hours/Week; On-Call Availability Required
About Us:
We’re a fast-growing BBQ company with 22 locations across 5 states, known for our dedication to great food and quality service. We’re looking for a skilled and self-motivated Facilities Maintenance Manager to join our team. This individual will be our primary in-house maintenance resource, handling day-to-day repairs and coordinating with outside vendors when needed.
Position Overview:
As the Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing critical building systems and equipment across our restaurants, with a focus on HVAC systems (including coolers, freezers, and rooftop units). You’ll also troubleshoot and perform various general maintenance tasks—like a jack-of-all-trades—helping to keep our locations running smoothly. While minimal travel may be required, most work will be based in the St. Louis area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and reactive maintenance across all facilities, with an emphasis on HVAC systems (walk-in coolers/freezers, rooftop units).
- Troubleshoot and repair general building systems: electrical, plumbing, lighting, and equipment.
- Maintain and service BBQ smokers and other specialized restaurant equipment (preferred).
- Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors and contractors when outside services are required.
- Respond to maintenance emergencies, including after-hours on-call availability.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance logs, and vendor interactions.
- Ensure compliance with local safety codes and health regulations.
- Make recommendations for equipment replacement, upgrades, or preventive improvements.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on facilities or maintenance experience, preferably in a restaurant or retail environment.
- Proven HVAC experience (EPA Certification preferred) (at least 2 years preferred).
- Experience working with commercial kitchen equipment, especially smokers (a plus).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage time independently and prioritize tasks across multiple locations.
- Must be comfortable working with tools and performing physical tasks (lifting, climbing ladders, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and vendor management skills.
Work Environment & Expectations:
- Primary work is local (St. Louis metro), though occasional travel to other regions (within 5 states) may be required.
- Must be willing to work some evenings or weekends and be on-call for emergencies.
- Position is salaried; typical workweek exceeds 40 hours based on operational needs.
