The Helix School is seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join our team for the 2024–2025 school year. About the Role
As an RBT at The Helix School, you will work closely with our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), educators, therapists, behaviorists and families to implement evidence-based behavioral interventions. You will play a critical role in assessing behaviors, developing and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and supporting students in building essential skills. Key Responsibilities
- Behavior Assessment & Intervention
- Work under the direction of a BCBA and clinical leadership to assess behaviors, collect data, and develop targeted interventions.
- Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and monitor fidelity.
- Identify environmental factors influencing behavior and recommend practical strategies for support.
- Work under the direction of a BCBA and clinical leadership to assess behaviors, collect data, and develop targeted interventions.
- Student Support & Instruction
- Provide 1:1 and group behavioral support in the classroom and other school settings.
- Lead or assist in social skills instruction, including pro-social communication, self-regulation, conflict resolution, and anger management.
- Deliver hands-on modeling and training for staff to ensure consistent application of behavioral strategies.
- Provide 1:1 and group behavioral support in the classroom and other school settings.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide consultation and Ppartner with teachers, aides, therapists, and families to create cohesive support plans.
- Provide behavioral updates and progress reports aligned with district and/or SELPA timelines.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, offering input on behavioral goals and progress.
- Data-Driven Practice
- Create, maintain, and analyze data collection systems to track the effectiveness of interventions.
- Adjust strategies based on data and student progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation to meet legal, school, and SELPA requirements.

- School-Wide Support
- Contribute to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) initiatives.
- Provide crisis response and behavioral support when needed.
- Serve as a role model for respectful, supportive interactions with all students.

Qualifications
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral experience working with children, preferably in special education setting
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based behavioral practices and data collection methods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting neurodivergent students.
