Major/Essential Functions
- Assist AMD with strategic planning for Research Accounting in service to the goals & objectives of Accounting Services (AS) and the University, including developing strategies for implementing new and enhancing current processes & tracking key performance indicators for Research performance evaluation, integrating performance metrics into AS operations and for campus use.
- Supervise & oversee assigned daily operations of sponsored projects post-award management, including staff hiring & training, workload management, performance reviews, and fostering a culture of sustainable excellence.
- Collaborate with institutional constituents and/or other research institutions to gain efficiencies, enhance information systems, provide training and education regarding sponsored project administration and establish best practices for managing sponsored projects.
- Promote institutional compliance with laws, policies, and regulations that govern sponsored project activities. Collaborate with AMD on policy development, regulation interpretation, and risk assessment. Organize and lead assigned compliance reviews, co-lead compliance committees, provide input on award T&Cs and assist with internal and external audits.
- Develop and deliver internal and campus-wide training programs for principal investigators, research faculty, department grant administrators and AS Research staff. Develop and maintain internal and campus-wide Cognos reports to analyze trends and monitor compliance and performance.
