Lincoln County School District is accepting online applications for a Bilingual Tutor at Newport High School.
The Bilingual Tutor will assist teaching staff with educational programs. The Bilingual Tutor will speak Spanish with Spanish-speaking students to enforce learning activities as directed by the teacher and will translate English into Spanish for Spanish-speaking students and parents.
Required duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assists students under direction of a teacher, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
- Presents subject matter under direction of a teacher to students, using a variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion and role playing.
- Tests students’ ability and progress as directed by teacher.
- Communicates with Spanish-speaking parents regarding students’ progress under direction of a teacher.
- Assists staff with other educational programs and projects.
- Assists staff with record keeping, copying, filing and grading papers.
- Assists staff with educational needs of students outside of Title program.
- Monitors and assists students as needed.
- Monitors and assists students in the lunch room.
- Assists with loading and unloading children from buses.
- Works with teacher to develop a reading program suitable for the student(s) in reading program.
- Provides Spanish language translation for building level documents, notices, etc.
- Provides Spanish language interpretation when needed (IEPs, conferences, parent meetings, etc.)
This is an 8 hour per school day position.
Starting Salary: $19.51-$21.53 per hour
Qualified applicants will be asked for an interview and must provide a resume and at least 2 letters of recommendation. Upon selection, employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $66 ODE processing fee.
