Salary: $12.61 - $13.69 ( 3 Steps - Non-bargaining unit position)

Summary of Duties and Functions:

Accept directions and suggestions from immediate supervisor.
Supervise large and small groups of children in an afterschool environment, independently and as part of a team.
Ensure the safety of students at all times.
Assist the program leader in planning the program and environment.
Lead students in developmentally appropriate activities as assigned.
Assist in the maintenance of records, charts, and complete other clerical work as assigned using current computer hardware and software.
Communicate with students and families in a professional manner.
Attend required in-services training sessions.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Qualities to Perform Essential Functions:

At least eighteen years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have a minimum of five hundred hours of related experience.
Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred.
Hold and maintain a good attendance record.
Demonstrate appropriate decision-making skills and good judgment in both routine and stressful situations.
Proficiency in reading, math, oral and written communications.
Must pass a physical examination.
Remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The position requires the individual to be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints, to prioritize which needs are to be fulfilled first, interact with the public, students and other staff, meet demands from several people, and the ability to work alone.
