Venesco, LLC is hiring seeking a full-time Paramedic to provide services at Blue Grass Army Depot, KY. Paramedics will care for active duty service members and their dependents. This is a great opportunity to use your skills to make a difference in the lives of those who serve our country!

Hours of Performance: Monday through Thursday 10-hour shifts (no mission will be conducted during darkness or when lightning is within 15 miles from the installation), and weekends possible. Schedule could increase to 7 days a week, 10 – 12-hour shifts, anywhere between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m, with a half hour unpaid lunch.


Duties:


1. Employee work hours include possible evenings (no mission during darkness or when lightning is within 15 miles from the installation, no overnight missions) and weekends.

2. Responds on-site to accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illnesses, and sometimes encounters situations which may be life threatening.

3. Upon arrival at the scene, makes an independent preliminary assessment of the patient's condition and selects from a variety of prescribed protocols, the one which he considers appropriate under the given circumstances.

4. Proceeds to provide the treatment as prescribed in the protocol.

5. Makes modifications to the protocol, if necessary, within prescribed limits.

6. Conducts a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of his condition and searches for medical alert symbols.

7. Determines, with due regard to the patient's condition, if and how he can be moved and to which medical facility he should be transported.

8. Prioritizes treatments for patients having multiple problems and employs a variety of established emergency medicine techniques, methods and equipment to the appropriate medical facility.

9. Responds to and participates in training exercises to include CSEP and CAIRA; responds to and participates in auto extrication, technical incidents and exercises.

10. Response locations can be located throughout the entire base compound and can include responding to training exercises with military units, the fire department, and other units or agencies located on the base.

11. Serves as the primary response agency with support from Fire Department personnel and other trained responders.

12. Serves as Medic-1 or Medic-2 during events.

Requirements

1. Degree/Education: Military issued certificates certifying candidate as EMT-P and possession of certification through NREMT commensurate with the position of EMT-P will be accepted

.

2. Certifications: In addition to Basic Life Support, shall have and maintain certification as NREMT, NRAEMT, NRP from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or applicable EMT certification during the life of the contract, licensed as a Paramedic by the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services. EMTs working in per-hospital EMS, to include both ground and air ambulance, WILL possess and maintain current certification through NREMT commensurate with the requirements of the positions to which currently assigned. Those positions include emergency medical technician-basic

(EMT-B), emergency medical technician-intermediate (EMT-I), and emergency medical technician-paramedic (EMT-P).


3. Experience: One year of experience as an EMT, NREMT, NRAEMT or NRP after graduation.
