Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Night Shift

Parc Center for Disabilities is a nonprofit organization committed to enriching the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. At our Bert Muller Home (BMH), we provide compassionate, high-quality care tailored to support residents' health and wellbeing. We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our night shift nursing team.
About the Role
The LPN will play a vital role in delivering hands-on healthcare to our residents, ensuring proper medication administration, health monitoring, and emergency response. This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to work within a dedicated interdisciplinary team while maintaining safety, compliance, and dignity in care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and regulatory guidelines.
- Assess residents for illness, injury, or changes in condition and respond appropriately.
- Provide timely documentation in nursing notes, MARs/TARs, and medical records.
- Monitor vital signs, hygiene, nutrition, and overall health status.
- Prepare medical appointment forms and documentation for the following day.
- Maintain infection control protocols, monitor medication supplies, and oversee medication returns/disposals.
- Participate in lab/test result documentation, quarterly assessments, and scheduled HABs.
- Serve as building charge nurse during the night shift, escalating issues as needed.
Night Shift Duties Include
- Overseeing medication and treatment administration throughout the shift
- Completing appointment paperwork, updating logs and reports, and ensuring clean, organized workspaces
- Managing lab documentation, incident reporting, and seizure tracking
- Collaborating with pharmacy and other medical providers to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN)
- Current Florida LPN license in good standing
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Preferred: One year of experience in a hospital, nursing home, or facility for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently overnight and as part of a collaborative team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and perform standard physical functions of nursing care
- Must be visually and audibly aware of residents’ needs
- Capable of verbal and written communication in English
