POSITION OVERVIEW
dormakaba is seeking a dynamic Plant Manager to lead operations at our flagship manufacturing facility in Indianapolis, IN. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President Americas Hub, offers a unique opportunity to champion operational excellence and innovation across a vertically integrated, high-mix/low-volume production environment. This role oversees end-to-end operations including production, quality, supply chain, maintenance, engineering, and continuous improvement for the Indianapolis Plant. The Plant Manager will lead the site towards world-class operational performance, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and innovation. They will be a visionary leader ready to make a lasting impact and elevate our manufacturing capabilities.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $170,000 - $190,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and implement the operational strategy aligned with corporate vision and growth targets
- Drive operational scalability, agility, and efficiency to support customer demands in a high product mix and low-volume setting
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (Finance, Sales, Engineering, HR, etc.) to ensure alignment of operational capabilities with market needs and business goals
- Partner with global and regional Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering teams to execute aligned strategies and standards at the site level
- Ensure consistent implementation of corporate policies, programs, and KPIs across functions in collaboration with global and regional leadership
- Champion a culture of safety by ensuring all operations consistently meet or exceed regulatory standards, while actively promoting a safe and healthy working environment for all employees
WHAT WE REQUIRE
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years at a senior/executive level
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Management, Operations, or related field
- Deep knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and other manufacturing methodologies
- Strong understanding of complex manufacturing processes, ERP systems, automation, and production planning
- Proven leadership experience building high-performing teams, developing and mentoring employees, fostering open communication, and driving succession planning to ensure long-term organizational success
