AMECO is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Senior Equipment Coordinator to work out of our Harrison, OH facility.  As a Senior Equipment Coordinator, you will be responsible for operating equipment and setting up rigging for the movement of heavy equipment. Rigging includes preparing the materials before loading, setting up the rigging equipment, operating heavy equipment machinery, and dismantling the rigging after the job.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved.
  • Setting, aligning, and leveling heavy equipment machinery.
  • Selecting the appropriate rigging gear.
  • Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
  • Inspecting rigging before final use.
  • Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment.
  • Maneuvering loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
  • Ensuring compliance with company safety procedures.
  • Communicating with the rigging and operating team.
  • Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections.
  • Complete equipment inspection checklists daily, prior to use of equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with team members and internal/external customers.
  • Complies with all company policies/procedures and safety guidelines 
  • Ensures work areas are organized efficiently while maintaining security/safety measures.
  • Upholds AMECO’s productivity, quality, and safety standards. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED.   

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years’ operating heavy equipment with exposure/experience in rigging.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • In depth knowledge of crane operations hand signals.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Excellent hearing and vision.
  • Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
  • High-level organizational skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in harsh/inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability and desire to learn crane operations. 
  • Safety conscious.  
  • Able to perform physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to routinely lifting 60 pounds, climbing, standing for extended periods of time. 
  • As the workload dictates, some overtime will be required
  • Capable of working at a fast pace, with excellent time management skills 
  • Self-motivated, self-reliant, able to work with little direction
  • Reliable/dependable (prompt, with good attendance)
  • Capable of multi-tasking and flexible to change direction or focus as priorities dictate

Certifications, Licenses, Registration: Previous license operating a forklift AND stock picker.

Based on the type of equipment we work on, the job is physical and labor intensive, i.e. heavy lifting, climbing on equipment and grinding out of position.    Individuals will be required to frequently sit/drive stand, walk, lift/carry, reach, stoop, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, talk, hear, climb step ladder, engage in repetitive motions, and demonstrate eye/hand/foot coordination. Close vision is required for this job.  Employees are required to regularly lift, carry and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.  Position frequently demands light to heavy physical work. All positions require standing over 90% of the day.

Various levels of environmental conditions include but not limited to working outdoors in the varying elements, shop, project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space. Conditions include exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration; high/precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.   

Role involves working alone and collaborating as part of a team.  Often required to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines, thus some stress may occur.
