About the Role:

The ABA Classroom BC (Licensed Behavior Specialist) plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational and social development of preschool aged children (ages 2-5 years old).  This position involves implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions tailored to individual student needs, ensuring a supportive and effective learning environment. The specialist will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote positive behavior and academic success. By conducting assessments and providing ongoing training, the specialist will empower staff and families to reinforce positive behaviors both in and out of the classroom. Ultimately, the goal is to foster an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive and reach their full potential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid state licensure as a Behavior Specialist or equivalent certification.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field.
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and insurance

Expectations: 

  • Experience developing, implementing and training others on ABA programs
  • Experience working with youth with Autism 
  •  Experience supervising others and delivering feedback is preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Implement and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) in collaboration with teachers and support staff.
  • Provide training and support to educators and parents on effective behavioral strategies and techniques.
  • Collect and analyze data on student progress to inform decision-making and adjust interventions as necessary.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and collaborate on educational strategies.

Skills:

The required skills of behavioral consultation and early intervention are essential for developing tailored strategies that address the unique needs of each student. Daily, the specialist will utilize behavioral consultation techniques to assess student behaviors and implement effective interventions. Early intervention skills will be applied to identify and address behavioral issues at the onset, promoting long-term success. Collaboration with educators and families will require strong communication skills, ensuring that everyone is aligned in their approach to supporting the student. Additionally, data analysis skills will be crucial for tracking progress and making informed adjustments to intervention plans.


Program hours are M-F, 9:30AM – 2:30PM (25 hours per week) and the remaining 15 hours per week are utilized for supervision, data analysis, program development, caregiver training, consultation, administrative tasks, etc.
