As a Senior Systems Engineer at Omnicell, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and delivery of innovative, safe, and effective products that drive safety and efficiency into the medication management and use processes at our customer sites. You will play a crucial role in bringing new concepts to life, integrating various engineering disciplines, and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory and quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and utilize your technical expertise and systems-level thinking to overcome complex engineering challenges.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to define system requirements and architecture based on user needs and standards, manage risk, and collaborate with our teams to perform system-level verification and validation activities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of systems engineers, including recruitment, performance management, and providing technical guidance.
Ensure the quality and performance of engineering work, driving technical strategy, and promoting best practices.
Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols, and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks
This role requires close collaboration with Omnicell’s various Engineering and Quality teams, creation and maintenance of documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant medical device regulations
Other duties include troubleshooting, mentoring, staying updated on industry trends, and engaging with customers.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and tools
Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage projects, and make sound decisions.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
8+ years experience in systems engineering or a related field, with prior experience in a leadership role
Strong understanding of medical device design, regulatory processes, system integration, and standards like FDA QSR and ISO 13485
Proficiency in system-level design, requirements management, and problem-solving is also important
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
