About the role
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction and service operations within the marine industry, ensuring projects and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position provides leadership to foremen, laborers, and service technicians, manages resources and schedules, and maintains proactive communication with customers and stakeholders. The role requires hands on involvement in inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs particularly for piers and boatlifts while ensuring compliance with safety protocols, industry regulations, and company standards.
What you'll do
- Supervise foremen, laborers, and service technicians through hands-on training, guidance, and daily support to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality execution of projects.
- Oversee all aspects of service operations, including inspections, diagnosing issues, and resolving problems—particularly those related to piers and boatlifts.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive project and service schedules, ensuring efficient coordination between construction crews, service teams, and customer needs.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project timelines, progress, and adjustments.
- Demonstrate expertise in construction site processes and marine service operations to facilitate smooth workflows, minimize downtime, and prevent delays.
- Prioritize flexibility by reallocating resources and adjusting schedules to accommodate urgent repair needs, seasonal fluctuations, and changing business priorities. Must be able to help and support construction division.
- Ensure all work adheres to industry-leading practices, techniques, safety protocols, and marine regulatory requirements.
- Accurately analyze diagrams and technical specifications to determine structural dimensions and guide project execution.
- Maintain detailed documentation of service work, repairs, customer interactions, and project status for billing and reporting purposes.
- Coordinate service dispatch to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
- Safely transport and handle all company equipment, working in diverse environments including on-water project sites and outdoor conditions.
- Assist in forecasting service-related expenses and evaluating project performance to identify areas for enhancement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in a service management or supervisory role, preferably within the marine, construction, or equipment service industries.
- Strong background in troubleshooting, repairs, and coordinating service operations
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Working knowledge of warranty processes, dispatch coordination, and customer service best practices
- Proficiency in using service management software or systems is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to adapt to fast-changing project demands and travel when needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts:
- Work involves walking, talking, hearing, lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying up to 100 pounds occasionally in addition to using material handling equipment.
- May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities require close vision assessments. Moderately loud noise levels in the work environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds as needed.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Steel-toe boots are required.
Travel Requirements: Travel to job sites, may include overnights.
