We are seeking an exceptional individual to serve as Chief Commercial Officer, English & Exams, a newly created role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You will lead the strategic direction, operational execution and commercial growth of a division which has a current turnover of ~£0.8bn and employs ~6,000 people. You will be accountable for educational excellence, innovation, and for creating a leading colleague experience across a complex global footprint.
This is a high-impact, global leadership role for a commercial, visionary and purpose-driven executive, with a passion for education and a track record of delivering sustainable growth in a competitive market environment.
Essential criteria:
- Proven track record of delivering consistent, sustainable, profitable growth in a competitive market environment.
- Proven track record in senior executive leadership within an international education service sector of comparable size/scale, which operates across both B2C and B2B markets.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience scaling complex global operations.
- Experience working with governments and navigating diverse cultural and regulatory landscapes.
- Experience identifying and pursuing new commercial endeavours that may require new business models, capabilities or approaches.
- Experience of managing cross-functional, multicultural teams.
- A track record of innovation and adaptability, with the ability to identify new revenue opportunities in a rapidly changing market environment.
Desirable criteria:
- Deep understanding of education technology, digital transformation, and language learning.
- Experience in a purpose-led organisation.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
Location: Stratford, London; hybrid working arrangement (3 days per week in-office)
Remuneration: Competitive; based on skills and experience
Appointment Term: Four-year term, with option to extend for an additional four years
