The Pre Press Coordinator is responsible for prepress activities related to the offset print department. Activities include file prep, proofing and plate output for the offset print operation. Assisting offset press Operators as needed, operate Polar Cutter, and assist the operations in other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Read, understand and communicate job instructions
- Extensive knowledge of Prepress Software such as Apogee Prepress, Kodak Prinergy, Screen, Fuji
- Generate proofs and offset printing plates for offset print department
- Follow job ticket specifications to produce a quality product
- Maintain production/quality standards
- Calculate, and record accurately an exact account of all completed work in the Cost Tracking System
- Order ink and other job-related items
- Order and maintain consumables for offset print department
- Clean and maintain proofing and plate processing equipment.
- Prepare job folders and job tickets for offset print
- Perform preventative maintenance on prepress equipment
- Understand all the information security policies that make up the Information Security Program.
- Use company information and other information-related resources in compliance with all Information Security Policies.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area in order to efficiently produce materials
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work area.
- Continually learning new processes to increase efficiency as well as maintaining proficiency in operation of all current equipment including but not limited to all offset and letterpress equipment.
- May need to assist other departments including offset print, Digital print, lettershop, and bindery
- Safety Observes safety procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions, uses equipment and materials properly.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to communicate verbally in English
Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
