Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance of the CoServ buildings and properties.

 

Primary Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining areas around the buildings, including but not limited to, sidewalks, parking lots, roof tops, and all building entrances.
  • Responsible for responding to maintenance requests and troubleshooting issues to resolve problems promptly.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
  • Provide support for events held at the facility including setting up and breaking down event spaces, ensuring equipment is operational, and addressing immediate maintenance needs during the event.
  • Assists in overseeing all contractors doing maintenance or repairs of the buildings and properties.
  • Assists in inspections of all CoServ buildings and properties and reports any maintenance issues that arise.
  • Assists CoServ employees with tasks as requested, including moving boxes, furniture, etc.
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours in response to emergency maintenance issues.
  • Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
  • Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.

     

    Secondary Position Responsibilities

    • Assists with CoServ’s mail pick up at the post office when necessary.
    • Attends CoServ University classes as required.
    • Performs other duties and activities as directed.

      Position Requirements

       

      Education, Experience, and Certifications Required

      • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
      • 2 to 4 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.

      • None

       

      Skills and Abilities Required

      • Ability to communicate well with other departments and contractors.
      • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in teams.
      • Knowledge of general repair and maintenance techniques.
      • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
      • Ability to perform minor maintenance repairs.
      • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders and other maintenance equipment.

       

      Skills and Abilities Preferred

      • None

       

      Physical Requirements

      • Works both in the office and outdoors.
      • Drives company vehicle as needed.
      • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
      • Bends, stretches, pushes, pulls, squats, crawls, and climbs in the normal course of completing job requirements.
      • Operates office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copier, etc.
      • Ability to sit for long periods of time.

         

        Other Requirements

        • Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s license.
