The Zinus Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading the organization and HR team
to ensure the delivery of highly effective human resource processes and programs for the
enterprise, including US and Canada. The Human Resource Director is specifically responsible
for planning, directing and coordinating human resource activities, polices and programs for the
organization.
Core Responsibilities
• As a critical member of the Zinus USA Leadership team, partner and design strategic people
management solutions (Talent, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Compliance, HRBPs, etc.) to
our organizational challenges, manage the linkages across functions and locations.
• Develop and implement strategic organizational practices and programs to drive the business
forward, improving the workforce and the workplace.
• Hire and onboard new employees, driving performance and productivity across the
organization.
• Oversee the HR team to maximum effectiveness.
• Manage the budget and investment into driving sustainable organizational capability through
people.
• Conduct research, analyze organizational trends and execute best practices for hiring, talent
and performance management.
• Develop aligned organizational policies that ensure compliance and capability.
• Ensure that a company remains in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Partner with the HR team to refine and execute on a comprehensive plan to build a sustainable
talent pipeline across the organization. Identify initiatives and programs to foster a talent
“mindset” and “culture”.
• Establish understanding of required leadership capabilities and develop approach to assess
talent and improve the quality of hiring and promotional decisions.
• Lead the ongoing execution of our Performance and Talent Planning / Review processes.
Work closely with the HR Business Partners and Business Leaders to develop and manage
talent pools, succession plans and to drive an enterprise, talent mobility approach for key
positions across the company.
• Design and develop leadership development strategies aimed to build leadership capabilities
at different levels of leadership, enabling organizational capability.
• Drive new talent acquisition approaches to ensure a viable, capable candidate pipeline.
• Lead the deployment of new techniques in the areas of candidate screening, evaluation,
selection and placement.
• Oversee the ongoing activities of the centralized administrative processes, programs and
policies, i.e. talent planning, performance management, candidate screening, background
checks, on-boarding, etc.
• Manage partnership with third-party providers, managing performance against service level
agreements. Select and deselect vendors based on organizational needs and performance.
• Develop overall Talent Scorecard and metrics framework designed to enable thoughtful talent
actions and planning, and to drive operational efficiencies.

• Drive Global HR Initiatives as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by President, Zinus North America.
Job Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
• Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
• Advanced Degree (MBA / MS) with concentration in HR / OD and other HR Certification
(Training, Development, Coaching, PHR, SPHR, GPHR) is a plus.
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in a Human Resources role, with at least 4 years’
experience in Talent Acquisition.
• Comprehensive HR subject matter expertise in the areas of Employee Engagement, Talent
Acquisition, Performance Management, Talent Development / Management, and
Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, etc.
• Demonstrated consultative skills in various situations with leaders at all levels.
• Ability to understand and articulate the strategic value of integrated People processes with
strong business acumen.
• Experience building and developing a team and providing leadership for indirect reporting
relationships.
• Strong writing skills including the ability to synthesize information into clear, concise messages
both for detailed analytical reports and executive summaries.
• Superior verbal communication including the ability to relate well with others and ability to adapt
style as needed, but always transparent, authentic and candid.
• Ability to work independently, work with a remote team (collaboration & partnership), think
creatively, manage own time, and take initiative to drive projects.
• Experience working with and managing outsource partners in Talent Management activities.
• Experience in business change efforts, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to think strategically, act operationally and balance those abilities depending on the
context and situation.
• Strong legal and business project management is required.
• Results and solution-driven, a ‘get it done’ attitude, a bias for action.
