Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive patch management strategy aligned with RL Carriers IMT goals and security requirements. This includes establishing policies, procedures, and guidelines for patch management activities and/or adhere to existing standards, policies, processes, procedures, governance, compliance and security standards
- Manage the process of evaluating patches to determine their criticality, impact on the RL Carriers systems, and compatibility with existing infrastructure & applications as well as ensure being updated on the latest software vulnerabilities and patches released by Microsoft and vendors.
- Overview the coordination with the IMT teams to conduct thorough testing of patches in a controlled environment, such as a testing or Pre-Production Environments. Ensure patches are tested for functionality, compatibility, and potential conflicts with existing infrastructure & applications.
- Plan and coordinate the deployment of patches across the RL Carriers infrastructure & Applications. This involves creating deployment schedules, coordinating with system administrators and application owners, monitoring the progress of patch installations.
- Collaborate with the SOC to identify vulnerabilities in RL Carriers systems and prioritize patches based on risk assessments. Implement vulnerability scanning tools and processes to proactively identify potential security gaps.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- 2+ years of experience in Patch management, IT support, system administration, or related field.
- Associate’s degree or current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field, and/or equivalent work experience
- Ability to identify and analyze problems quickly, recommend and implement flexible creative permanent solutions
- Strong project management skills, demonstrate ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks as projects, ensuring completion to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, attention to details and the ability to work independently.
- Strong facilitation and executive communication (written & verbal) skills required, excellent verbal presentation skills
- General level knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and technologies
- Willing to learn and apply new technologies and methodologies to improve the technology that supports the services.
- Understanding of ITIL or ITSM frameworks is helpful, but not mandatory.
