The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library/SNFL is the largest circulating library in the NYPL system. This library is a vital hub for library patrons in and around the City of New York and serves as a bridge between our neighborhood libraries and in-depth research library collections.
Reporting to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library Program and Technology Coordinator, the Program and Technology Assistant will:
- Support all aspects of the SNFL’s programmatic and technological needs
- Setup A/V system and any other materials for events and programs
- Assist the team with assignments, including documentation, program preparation, system maintenance, and any other assigned work
- Ensure that all A/V materials and equipment are handled properly and accounted for at the end of the day
- Perform basic repairs, adjustments, and cleaning of A/V devices
- Train and support staff on A/V and computer technology
- Provide computer technology instruction and support to the public
- Troubleshoot and assist with the handling of specialized user needs
- Assist with content creation and workflows
- Any other work assigned
Required Education, Experience & Skills
- A college degree in a related field is preferred but not required
- Experience with A/V technology and computer hardware/software or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Able and willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and some weekends
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others, including co-workers, library users, creative collaborators, and contractors
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work independently with speed, reliability, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems
- Demonstrated experiences with Zoom, Google Meet, and similar conferencing platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work with both Mac and PC computer platforms
- Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
- Demonstrated experience setting up simple A/V systems, including projection
