The Ag Sales Manager will be responsible for leading Pacific Coast Seed’s Ag-Business segment. This role involves managing sales and fulfillment for the existing customer base, acquisition of new customers and improving overall go-to-market performance.

Responsibilities

· Lead the servicing of existing customers

· Lead new customer acquisition strategies 

· Prepare annual sales and gross margin plan by product 

· Ensure the Pacific Coast team is servicing the current book of business in the most efficient manner possible

· Become familiar with key vendors / product purchasing

· Pursue other strategic cover crop opportunities in other markets (i.e. walnuts) and geographies (i.e. Oregon, Washington, AZ)

· Use resources to assist customers & end users with sound agronomic advice 

· Work with the Marketing team to develop and distribute marketing materials to promote growth initiatives 

· Work with the (who?) to aggressively help expand cover crop adoption and ensure awareness of all available government   

   subsidies

· Attend trade events and visit key customers 

· Manage the company’s Organic Processing Certification program. 

· Ensure adequate stock levels of on hand inventory based on sales volume

· Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies

· Coordination of freight quotes and delivery options for customers

· Provide pricing and order completion for wholesale seed customers, including agronomic recommendations as required? ? 

· Assist in intercompany transfers of product

· Human resource management – evaluate employee performance and compensation, including hiring and termination under 

   guidance of Human Resource Director

· Other duties as required, such as warehouse assistance with shipping and receiving, hauling seed, expenditure evaluations, and 

   minor maintenance

· As needed, support senior NSG operations management team members to ensure best practices with all office, warehouse, and 

   HR activities at the Pacific Coast location

· In cooperation with the COO, evaluate seed and related product purchase options for upcoming season and delivery timeframes, 

   which may include companywide needs, truckload and pallet quantities??


  

Working Conditions:

While this is an office position, please note that you will be required to work near an environment containing dust and other plant related debris. People with asthma or known allergens to grasses, pollen, etc. should not apply.

Requirements

  

Experience / Education and Skills Required

· Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Business, Communications, or a related field

· 5-8 years of experience in Ag Sales, Sales Management or Operations

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent organizational and project management abilities

· Experience in sales forecasting and reporting

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

· Proactive with a strong understanding of Northern California Ag business

· Proven track record of growing businesses
