The Clinical Director of TCTI reports to the Executive Director and serves as the Clinical leader of the organization. The Clinical Director is an internal and external facing, cross-functional senior leadership role that works with internal staff/contractors as well as external stakeholders to define, design, implement, and execute the clinical initiatives and deliverables of TCTI. At the external stakeholder level, this role will ensure that TCTI is meeting client goals. At the internal employee/contractor level, this role will ensure that the internal systems and clinical services support a rapid and seamless experience for wellness goals. The Clinical Director will be forward-thinking to enhance all stakeholders’ wellness experiences.

This position will lead the internal clinical resources that design and deliver TCTI’s services. This is a multi-faceted position that requires strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work across teams delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the liaison between the leadership team and internal and external stakeholders with regards to delivery of clinical services
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and delivery of clinically appropriate modalities and training for mental health professionals
  • Provide culturally competent higher-level training to selected internal and external stakeholders utilizing best practices
  • Provide external stakeholder (i.e. agencies, community, departments) outreach and support to develop and maintain current and future relationships and foster improved relationships
  • Triage stakeholders’ clinical concerns in a manner which maintains client confidentiality and ensures a positive outcome for all stakeholders
  • Advise, manage, and monitor sensitive clinical cases; strictly maintain EAP confidentiality; and orient new clinicians to the program including policies and procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Available to interview and vet new prospective clinicians and training related employees
  • Responsible for the supervision of the Clinical Supervisors to ensure clarity, cohesiveness and a high standard of clinical care
  • Oversight of the delivery of services of the Crisis Response Team ensuring the timely and clinically appropriate delivery of services
  • Oversees the clinicians and clinical delivery of training within the training department ensuring the delivery of culturally competent and clinically appropriate training for all stakeholders
  • Leads team of ESS clinicians ensuring clinically appropriate interventions and modalities are utilized in the delivery of services and encourages them to share ideas about strengths in service delivery and opportunities to improve service delivery systems
  • Clinician nurturing/development
  • Ensure that all clinical services are performed, including therapist recruitment, orientation of new clinicians, quality assurance and other clinical services as defined by TCTI’s standards
  • Oversee the clinical portion of the utilization review process and promptly communicates with appropriate leadership to manage accordingly
  • Provide internal and external thought leadership in the first responder wellness domain and serve as subject matter expert on industry best practices strengthening our competitive differentiators
  • Review monthly and quarterly department utilization and reason code reports and provide feedback and guidance to appropriate internal stakeholders 
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Director

Skills and Competency:

  •  The Candidate will show skills and competency in working with clients, from undertaking assessments (including risk), planning and delivery of care to review of effective methods of interventions to shape continuing service provisions which will meet the needs of individuals
  • They will show skills and competency in working with administrative staff, planning and delivery of care and review of effective methods of intervention to shape continuing service provision which will meet the needs of the organization
  • They will have the ability to mentor and supervise managerial staff
  • The successful candidate will also listen actively when spoken to and effectively communicate their thoughts to others
  • They will be sensitive to religious, ethnic and cultural differences in others and show respect and empathy
  • They will be able to work alone but also in a team, with fellow staff, in the business setting and will actively seek out advice and/or guidance to solve problems
  • The candidate will have good time management skills and will actively seek to accomplish tasks and be able to use a variety of methods and ideas
  • The candidate must possess excellent managerial and leadership skills/competence which will enable them to support and motivate their teams and must have excellent communication skills, sensitivity and approachability to enable them to connect with their teams, develop and train them to ensure a high standard of patient care
  • Being able to manage under pressure and conflicting demands, they should always be professional to make decisions and manage crisis situations whilst supporting both staff and clients

Minimum requirements:

  • 5 years of professional training experience
  • Licensed as a Clinician in State of California
  • Approved to provide Clinical Supervision
  • Experience in working with dual diagnosis clients
  • Experience as a Clinical Director
  • 5+ years as a Licensed Clinician
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office, APA writing skills, G Suite
