Program Summary
The Finance team manages all aspects of the financial operations in the organization, ensuring IRCO’s financial health, transparency and sustainability. The team is comprised of three areas: Accounting, Budgets and Contracts. Core functions of the team include recording financial transactions, creating financial reports for both funders and managers, and assisting managers in the interpretation of those reports. With an annual budget of more than $60 million, drawn from a complex array of funding streams and a workforce and client base from around the world, we are a non-profit leader with a long stable history of financial accountability and excellence.
Position Summary
This position will support the health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) program by processing payments, managing financial documentation, creating invoices, and monitoring reimbursements for housing and outreach services. While primarily administrative, the role benefits from familiarity with medical billing.
Essential Functions
- Receive and process payment vouchers for rent and utilities (including forward payments, arrears, and late payments), storage fees, and home remediations/modifications
- Collect, organize, and enter client data into payment and reporting systems
- Submit payment requests and documentation to appropriate entities
- Maintain ongoing communication with the program team to verify client eligibility, confirm payment authorization data, and troubleshoot invoicing issues
- Reconcile payments, invoices, and reimbursements
- Assist with basic reporting to track program progress and compliance
Secondary Functions
- Attend recurring all-staff meetings, team meetings and other requested meetings
- Participate in policy work with strategic plan workgroup on request
- Pursue relevant training in the field of accounting
- Support IRCO’s strategic goals and objectives
Requirements
Education & Experience
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate or equivalent degrees in accounting, business or similar communication of education and experience
- 1–2 years of experience in accounting, billing, client services, or healthcare administration
- Familiarity with medical service billing or Medicaid is a plus but not required
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, basic accounting tools, and secure recordkeeping
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Discretion with confidential client data
