This position reports to the Lead Sample Technician with a dotted line to Quality Control and R&D.  This position must have excellent communication and written skills and work closely with Regulatory and Purchasing.
 

Qualifications


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Determine if selected lot(s) are available from the Sample Lab shelf stock
  •  Produce and place appropriate labeling on sample containers
  •  Complete Large Sample Deduction sheets for samples exceeding 8 oz. and submit to the IT Dept.
  • Draw material samples from drums in inventory with awareness of the material SDS
  • Use of large pipettes to fill the sample vials
  •  If necessary, pick lot numbers of the material to be sampled, considering QC status, reserve/hold status, and age in making the selection
  • Consult with supervisor on sample materials requiring hotbox melting
  • Proper disposal of pipettes, rags, gloves, and any other consumables after use
  • Check drawn samples for any discoloration or debris
  •  Send sample paperwork to the Regulatory Dept. or QC Lab when required
  • Prepare samples for shipment using proper packaging and labeling of hazardous materials
  • Small Scale Compounding (Samples)
  • Other related duties as assigned
  •  Follow all safety rules/procedures and maintain an accident and on-the-job injury free record
  • Comply with all relevant cGMP, cGLP, and SQF procedures and regulations

Education & Experience: 

•    High School Diploma or Equivalent
•    Minimum 1-3 years working in Production or Lab position
 

Skills and/ or Physical Requirements:

  • Computer skills (NetSuite a +), MS Office, GSuite
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to stand/walk/sit for extended period of times
  • Use of tools including pipettes, scoops, pliers, and drum tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets 
  • Communication & interpersonal skills for working co-operatively/effectively in a team environment
