Responsibilities:The Underwriting Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising the operations of the Underwriting Department and leading a dynamic team of support personnel. The Underwriting Operations Supervisor ensures seamless execution of underwriting support functions and exceptional customer service delivery. This role is pivotal in driving operational efficiency, fostering a collaborative team culture, and aligning departmental performance with strategic business goals. With direct oversight of support personnel, the Supervisor champions continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence across all touchpoints.
Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Supervise, coach, and mentor support staff.
- Identify training needs and facilitate skill development to enhance team performance.
- Foster a high-performing, inclusive, and engaged team culture through regular check-ins, feedback, and recognition.
- Oversee daily workflows to ensure timely processing of new business, renewals, endorsements, and inquiries.
- Monitor and manage service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring responsiveness and accuracy across all channels.

- Assist in planning and organizing resources for handling peak volume periods.
- Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to business objectives.
- Share insights and trends to inform strategic decisions and support continuous improvement.
- Support special projects and assignments as directed by management.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- 3+ years P&C insurance operations experience, preference towards WC Carrier experience
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Must be proficient with MS Office products, especially Excel
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Working knowledge of NCCI and CA WCIRB basic manual rules, premium rating and standard forms preferred
- Underwriting, leadership and management/supervision experience preferred
