The Quality Senior Manager is a pivotal leadership role at Innophos, responsible for developing, enhancing, and maturing our Quality and Food Safety programs, processes, and systems across all company-owned and contract manufacturing locations. This role demands expertise in regulatory compliance, food safety, and quality assurance, encompassing areas such as GMP, HACCP, Sanitation, Food Defense, Traceability, Recall, Document Management, Audit, Verification, Validation, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Change Management. The Senior Manager will drive continuous improvement and operational excellence, leveraging data-driven insights to ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety from raw materials to the consumer. This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration, partnering with teams across procurement, planning, engineering, packaging, and warehousing to embed Quality and Food Safety principles into all processes.


The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, specific skills, licenses and certifications, experience, and training.


Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Team Development: Manage and mentor experienced specialist teams, fostering their technical and professional growth to cultivate future leaders. 
  • Quality Management System Excellence: Lead the continuous development, implementation, and maturation of Innophos's Quality and Food Safety programs, processes, and systems. Establish tools and processes to ensure standardization across all production locations.1 Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence using structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Auditing: Assure unwavering compliance with Quality, Food Safety, applicable Regulatory Requirements, and FSMA for Food, Dietary Supplements, and Phosphate.  Lead the internal food safety, quality, and process audit program, and oversee external and customer audits.4 Serve as a primary contact for regulatory inspections
  • Supplier Quality Management: Oversee supplier quality management, including audits, qualification, and resolution of non-conformances, to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials and packaging.
  • Customer Quality & Issue Resolution: Lead the investigation and resolution of critical customer quality complaints and product issues, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions and communication.
  • Data-Driven Performance & Improvement: Improve and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establish a robust management review process Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to identify trends, root causes, and drive data-informed quality improvements and strategic decision-making.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner extensively with various Innophos teams, including procurement, planning, engineering, packaging, and warehousing, to embed Quality and Food Safety principles into all processes, including the ongoing Supply Chain Transformation initiatives. Work collaboratively both vertically and horizontally across the organization.


  • Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related scientific or engineering discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in Quality and Food Safety leadership roles within food, beverage, or nutritional/supplemental manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Ideally certified in PCQI, HACCP, and Food Defense. Bachelors degree in a related field (i.e., chemistry or chemical engineering).


  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Regulatory & Technical Mastery: Extensive experience and working knowledge of FDA regulations and FSMA, including 21 CFR Part 111 and 117. Proven expertise in the development and implementation of Food Safety Plans and Quality Systems (e.g., GFSI, GMP, HACCP, SQF).
  • Continuous Improvement & Data Analytics: Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, 5 Whys, or value stream mapping. Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical process control (SPC) for quality trend identification, root cause analysis, and strategic decision-making.
  • Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams. Strong influencing and negotiation skills to achieve favorable results with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory personnel and customers. Independent, self-motivated, and capable of operating with significant autonomy.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively transfer knowledge and interact constantly with regulatory bodies, internal teams, and external customers. A strong vertical and horizontal collaborator.
  • Problem Solving & Auditing: Extensive experience in investigation, root cause analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and auditing (internal, external, and customer).
  • System Proficiency: PC literate and proficient in the use of systems for efficient analytical tasks, with the ability to learn Innophos's information systems that support regulatory activities.
