The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 11 universities, a comprehensive health science center, eight state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. Bush Combat Development Complex (BCDC), part of the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS), invites applications for a full-time Project Manager I.
The Bush Combat Development Complex (BCDC) - located on the 2,300-acre RELLIS Campus in Bryan, TX - is an ecosystem for agile technology development and service-member-inspired research. The BCDC is the result of a partnership between the Department of Defense, Texas A&M University System, and the State of Texas. The $200 million complex is designed to bring together researchers from U.S. universities, the military, and the private sector for collaboration, demonstrations, and high-tech testing of initiatives to help accelerate military innovation for our nation’s defense. Salary:
$3,657.34 - $5,833.33 per month commensurate with experience.
Job Description Summary:
The George H.W. Bush Combat Development Complex (BCDC) invites application for a full-time Project Manager. The Project Manager will manage project activities including developing, implementing, tracking budgets, tracking timelines and deliverables, and providing periodic evaluations and reports for projects that are generally small in scope. Responsibilities:
- Manages project portfolios in line with business strategies and in accordance with project management standards. Periodically conducts meetings with project team to schedule and coordinate project activities.
- Coordinates project resources in conjunction with resource holders and other project managers. Manages projects with defined problems and solutions.
- Manages project quality control and assurance.
- Coordinates goals for project delivery. Applies current best practices in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and project lifecycle.
- Provides input on designated budget that usually has a minor impact on financial revenue and expenses.
- Ensures timely execution of funds.
- Identifies problem areas and issues before they become significant and recommends approaches to mitigate impacts or eliminate them.
- Maintains communications with external and internal partners by attending meetings and conference calls.
- Identifies opportunities for the hiring of additional technical personnel.
- Assists in organizing, guiding, writing, and reviewing proposals.
- Communicates and implements information protection procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Three years of related experience.
Registration, Certifications, and Licenses:
- Must possess, or be able to gain and maintain, a Department of Defense security clearance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey written and verbal technical information clearly and effectively.
- Interpersonal skills suited to collaborative and team-based operations.
- Experience with research projects.
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with budget and payroll accounting categories.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
