Opening Question:
- Could you please share with me what initially drew you to the field of audiology and what inspired you to pursue a career in this profession?
- Growing up, she thought she wanted to be a Pediatrician. When going to them, she was fascinated when they examined her ear and she thought that’s what they always did. During undergrad, she took a communications course which was essentially an introduction to Audiology and she was hooked. It instantly clicked and she knew it was the field she wanted to pursue.
Technical-Based Questions:
- What hearing aid manufacturers are you familiar with?
- She’s familiar with all major manufacturers.
- Are you willing to sell hearing aids?
- Yes she is.
- Describe your current work environment.
- Her externship is at a large health system which has exposed her various aspects of Audiology. She’s seen various and diverse cases across all ages. She’s experience in cochlear implants, hearing aid fittings, diagnostics, and vestibular testing.
Behavioral-Based Questions:
- How do you collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ENT physicians or speech-language pathologists, in the diagnosis and treatment of patients?
- One of her rotations was with a local ENT practice affiliated with the hospital and it was her favorite setting to work in. She likes working alongside the surgeons and partnering with them to provide the best care for her patients.
- What are you looking for in a practice?
- She likes a team environment and wants to work with other Audiologists, APP’s and ENT’s. She’s looking for a change of scenery as well and is looking forward to moving to TX to be close to family.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree - PA - excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- State licensure and board certification is required
- Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations
- Must love building relationships with patients and fellow staff, value bedside manner and possess excellent clinical skills
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of medical model and roles of physicians and physician assistants. Familiar with anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis.
- Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including taking medical histories, performing physicals, evaluating health status including state of wellness, and compliance with care recommendations.
- Knowledge of diagnosing and treating medical problems and developing care plans.
- Knowledge of documentation in medical records in confidential manner.
