SMCC is seeking adjunct faculty in our Behavioral Health, Human Service, & Social Work Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Southern Maine Community College is seeking a part-time adjunct instructor to teach Crisis Intervention during the Fall 2025 semester. This course introduces students to the principles of crisis theory, behavioral assessment, and intervention strategies across a range of crisis situations, including mental health emergencies, trauma, grief, domestic violence, and more.
DELIVERY:
Online asynchronous via Brightspace. No scheduled class meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- At least five years of professional experience in behavioral health, social services, crisis response, or a related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with crisis assessment and intervention models
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care
- College-level teaching experience, particularly in online formats
