Essential Responsibilities:

- Properly dispose of used sharps and other bio-hazardous waste.
- Collect, process, and deliver specimens to appropriate section of the Laboratory for testing.
- Maintain phlebotomy trays and outpatient draw station (restocking supplies, cleanliness, etc.)
- Function performed affect the population ages newborn through geriatric.
- Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
- Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Required License/Certifications/Registrations
- Current BLS/CPR card from approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first.
- Must complete color blind test/screen prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education and Experience
- One year related experience or training.
Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations
- Phlebotomy Technician PBT (ASCP).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Physical Requirements:
With or without accommodation.
- Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
