POSITION SUMMARY
The Aquatic Manger, working as part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the center. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and innovation in all aspects of their work.
The Aquatic Manager will be responsible for the training and supervision at all assigned pools. The incumbent will be responsible for the growth and safety of all Aquatic programs at assigned pools. Under the direct supervision of the VP of Member Experience, the Aquatic manager will create and ensure an excellent experience for all members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that safety is always a priority in your pools and adhere to YMCA Aquatic Guidelines and YMCA Risk Management Guidelines
- Be visible to members at all times-work towards creating an excellent member experience.
- Grow aquatic programs through quality programming, marketing and cross selling of programs and create new innovative programs and services that meet the Center’s needs.
- Provide efficient scheduling of facility
- Ability to lead and motivate others within the aquatics department.
- Ensure all staff follow emergency plans and are current in all training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe YMCA. Take initiative to clean up/repair areas.
- Always be dressed in appropriate attire and wear nametag.
- Attend and remain current on all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
- Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor immediately using proper forms.
- Be trained, willing and available to teach swim lessons and water exercise classes.
- Hire, Train, Schedule and supervise all aquatics staff
- Current Lifeguarding certification, CPR and First Aid are required. CPO and LGI preferred.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and water chemistry of the pool and pool operation.
- Family programming at the center (i.e. birthday parties).
- Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Benefits
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED (for Professional Rescuer)
- Minimum of 2 years of aquatic facility experience, including lifeguarding or swim instruction
- Supervisory or leadership experience in an aquatic or recreation setting
- Strong knowledge of pool operations, water safety, and risk management
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to perform water rescues and respond to emergencies
Preferred
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
- Experience in staff training and development
- Budgeting and scheduling experience
- Program planning and event coordination skills
