Maintenance Lead

Job Overview

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance team, ensuring timely completion of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks. This role serves as a working lead who also performs hands-on maintenance work while coordinating efforts, assigning tasks, and ensuring equipment, machinery, and facility systems are operating safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance team
• Ensure conformance to safety requirements and company policies
• Assign and prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and operational impact
• Perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Collaborate with production and operations to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff
• Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory and requisition materials as needed
• Participate in planning for equipment upgrades, replacements, and installations
• Other responsibilities, as assigned

Education – Experience Required

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred
• 5+ facilities maintenance experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
• Proficient with tools and diagnostic equipment
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime hours and weekends
