Job Description:

The Psychology Department at Furman University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Candidates must have expertise in Social Psychology and be committed to exemplary teaching and producing high-quality research in collaboration with undergraduate students. A Ph.D. in Psychology is required by the position’s start date of August 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant and supportive department with outstanding teaching and research resources. Candidates will teach courses in social psychology, introductory psychology, research methods and statistics, as well as other courses that support or expand the department’s curriculum. The teaching load is five courses, split over two semesters. Faculty are also expected to serve as research mentors to undergraduate students throughout the academic year and during the summer. We offer competitive start-up funds, research space, and summer support.
