Job Description:
Manages team of LE Controllers that support multiple legal entities. Provides supervisory guidance for month-End Close responsibilities, g/l balances and trends, complex Internal/ External (i.e. Regulatory) Reporting on standalone and consolidated LE financial statements, General Ledger Governance Routines, subject matter expertise for LE actions related to impact on legal entity. (Registration Requirement - Series 99)
The Legal Entity CFO and Corporate Treasury Controller team is part of the CFO-Global Financial Control organization. The primary focus of our team is ensuring the accuracy of the books and records of the bank and supporting both our Legal Entities and business partners. Legal entity management includes monthly close and completion of financial statements. Our business partners include Product BFOs, Consumer and Small Business Finance, Operations, Regulatory Reporting, Accounting Policy, and other enterprise teams.
This role is responsible for directing core day-to-day accounting, internal control, and reporting functions for US Broker and Swap Dealers, and Corporate Treasury. This includes accounting reviews and determinations, monthly financial close & reporting, external reporting, and product business/finance support. This role will also help design, develop, and execute changes to help make us more effective and efficient.
Reports to the Global Legal Entity Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a global team of finance professionals
- Review and approve month-end close responsibilities (e.g., accounting calculations/journal entries, product reviews, trial balance reviews)
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and review internal management reports
- Document SOX requirements and enhance controls as required
- Manage financial statement preparation and coordinates external audits
- Review monthly FOCUS reports
- Support & influence business partners
- Design, develop, and implement process improvements that reduce risks/costs, improve operations, and enhance user experience
- Optimize new technology to better serve stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of financial experience at a global/international bank or professional services firm
- BA/BS Degree preferably in Finance/Accounting
- 5+ years of management experience
- Demonstrates business acumen related to capital markets products
- Experience with derivatives and Global Markets products and understanding of their role in enterprise risk management
- Proven experience with taking on new work, defining and documenting best process design, and implementing and driving workflows
- Able to understand large complex transactions and simplify to its key components
- Interest and/or ability to understand technology products and services
- Proven analytical, change management, consulting and problem resolution capabilities
- Moves quickly from concept to action; able to establish priorities and achieve results
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
- Data analysis skills and ability to create executive level materials within tight timeframes with limited direction
- Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
- Credibility to influence business partners, peers, and management
- Familiarity with the bank’s financial systems
