The University of Oklahoma (OU), invites applications to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the MIS division starting in the Fall of 2026. Our strong programs in the MIS division build on a history of excellence, distinguished faculty members, and an active industry partnership. The division offers an undergraduate major and minor in MIS, graduate in-person and online programs focused on Business Analytics, and a Ph.D. degree. It operates the Center for MIS Studies (CMISS), an industry-academic partnership through which faculty and business partners collaborate on research and curriculum development. The division has an active MIS Student Association, provides sizable student scholarships annually, and enjoys strong support from the university and industry partners. Faculty members are world-renowned, engaged in thriving research programs, generate external research funding, hold leadership positions in leading journals and conferences, and are outstanding teachers. Many opportunities exist for professional growth and recognition as MIS faculty and member of OU’s Michael F. Price College of Business. The University of Oklahoma is classified as a R1, Very High Research University, by the Carnegie Foundation, generates large amounts of research funding, and has a growing number of endowed faculty chairs and professorships. Norman, where the main campus is located, is a culturally rich and vibrant town located just outside of Oklahoma City, and close to other major cities.

Candidates must have a PhD in MIS or a closely related discipline, or be on track to complete their PhD by May 31, 2026. ABD candidates and faculty in the early stages of their academic careers (within 1–2 years post-PhD) are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate strong potential for excellence in both research and teaching. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests align with the division’s focus areas and who are prepared to teach at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
