This is a Hotel Preventative Maintenance Technician position with a small company managed by a cohesive team of professional that is looking to increase our capability. This position earns a competitive wage of $18.00 - $20.00/hourly, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOTEL PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The Preventative Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel's building and grounds and for the operation of its equipment and mechanical/electrical systems. Key responsibilities include keeping all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel and completing maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotel's standard operating procedures.

 

As an associate of the hotel, Hotel Preventative Maintenance Technician promote a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest and friendly. Also, should be able to address guest requests and problems.

Role Accountabilities & Expectations:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and brand goals.
  • Maintain company and franchise maintenance standards for both guest rooms and public areas.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests.
  • Resolve maintenance problems, complaints and work orders.
  • Ensure that property and equipment are maintained in a safe manner and that all repairs are made as specified by manufacture.
  • Service the hotel's pool including cleaning, appearance and chemical balance and completing maintenance log.
  • Maintain building exterior.
  • Thoroughly complete maintenance logs.
  • Ability to focus attention on details, speed and accuracy.
  • Follow and maintain a preventative maintenance program.
  • Perform or assist with periodic or scheduled cleaning projects.
  • Assist other departments when needed and perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

  • High school degree or GED preferred.
  • One (1) year hotel experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
  • Able to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
  • Able to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good judgement and decision making abilities.
  • Ability to work day shifts, holidays, Monday through Friday, night shifts and weekends.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with drug free workplace policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA)

  • Must be able to spend 90% of working time standing, walking and reaching.
  • Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position.
  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
  • Must be able to carry loads greater than 50 pounds and exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently.
  • Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling.
  • Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
