Summary/Objective
The Mammography Tech performs Digital Mammograms of the breast at a technical level that will produce high quality mammographic images. Performs screening and diagnostic mammograms for detection of breast cancer. May also perform breast needle localization procedures, stereotactic breast biopsy procedures as well as galactogram procedures. Assists and works closely with the Radiologists.

- Prepares patients appropriately for diagnostic mammography examinations as prescribed by patients' physician.
- Performs routine diagnostic mammography examinations and educates patients on Breast Self-Examination.
- Utilizes all radiographic equipment proficiently and safely and calls for service if needed, as well as, maintains safety precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patients, other personnel, and self.
- Completes patient logs, charge requisitions and completes data entry in both PACS/RIS including history's, fluoro time documentation, contrast documentation and patient dose history, as well as, any other date entry or written logs needed.
- Maintains inventory and orders supplies as necessary and appropriate.
- Maintains knowledge of MQSA standards/regulations and participates in the clinical oversight of radiologic students.
Required Education and Experience
Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Required License/Certifications
Current certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 90 days
Must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB)
Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 90 days
Current registration in Mammography
