Foreign Trade Zone- Senior Specialist
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented FTZ Specialist to join our Trade Compliance team in Walton, KY. This role is responsible for managing Foreign Trade Zone operations and ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong logistics background with hands-on experience in FTZ inventory control, customs entries, and supply chain coordination. This role is on-site.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all logistics activities within the Foreign Trade Zone, including inbound and outbound shipments, zone admissions, and transfers.
- Prepare, submit, and manage 214 filings, weekly entry summaries, and other required FTZ documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and reconciliation reports for merchandise within the FTZ.
- Ensure inventory cycle counting achieves process accuracy with internal finance requirements and external regulations
- Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, warehouse staff, and transportation providers to ensure efficient movement of goods.
- Monitor FTZ compliance and ensure adherence to CBP regulations and internal SOPs.
- Serve as the point of contact for CBP audits, site visits, and inquiries related to FTZ operations.
- Identify logistics and cost-saving opportunities through optimized FTZ usage.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics and trade compliance processes.
- Support the Global Trade Director in special projects and trade relates matters such as HS classification, free trade agreements and supply chain security.
- Train warehouse and logistics staff on FTZ protocols and compliance procedures.
- Assist with system updates, FTZ software implementation, and reporting metrics as needed.
- Support continuous improvement related to policies and procedures that support the FTZ to ensure alignment with business operations and regulatory requirements.
- Define and implement the KPI’s and metrics that provide visibility to proper functioning of FTZ compliance activities as well as optimization of the FTZ savings
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
Experience
- 2–4 years of logistics experience with a focus on FTZ operations or customs compliance.
- Solid understanding of FTZ rules and procedures, import/export logistics, and CBP requirements.
- Familiarity with FTZ software platforms and inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and coordination skills across departments and external partners.
- U.S. Customs Broker License is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Logistics operations in a distribution center or warehouse setting.
- Transportation coordination (domestic and international).
- Bonded warehouse or duty drawback programs.
Base salary range: $76,820 - $115,229
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
