Founded in 2020 in partnership with DuneGlass Capital, a healthcare services-focused independent sponsor, the Allied OMS network now includes 75 doctors serving patients from 56 locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
About the Role
The Vice President of Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for the operational, financial, and cultural success of our oral surgery practices. Reporting to the SVP of Operations, this leader will oversee Regional Operations Directors, ensuring each practice achieves sustained organic growth, maximizes revenue and EBITDA, and maintains consistent operational excellence. The VP will be accountable for designing and executing strategies that improve performance, enhance the patient experience, and foster a culture of accountability and high achievement across the organization.
This role requires a results-oriented, hands-on leader with a proven track record in multi-site healthcare management, strong financial acumen, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Directly supervise, coach, and develop Regional Operations Directors to ensure strategic alignment and accountability for practice-level results
- Partner with surgeons, practice administrators, and corporate teams to build a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and patient-first service
- Conduct regular performance reviews for direct reports, providing clear feedback, and identifying professional development opportunities
- Maintain high levels of visibility and engagement with practices through regular site visits and virtual check-ins
- Serve as an escalation point for operational challenges and facilitate quick, effective resolutions
Operational & Financial Performance
- Drive year-over-year organic growth in production and collections across the portfolio
- Oversee P&L performance to achieve and exceed financial targets through a combination of revenue optimization and effective expense management
- Monitor KPI dashboards, financial statements, and operational reports to identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities; convert insights into actionable plans with measurable outcomes
- Help to develop RCM strategy designed to optimize billing, collections, and reimbursement processes
Process Improvement & Best Practices
- Develop, document, and standardize operational processes that improve scheduling efficiency, surgical throughput, and case acceptance rates
- Lead initiatives to streamline both clinical and administrative workflows, improving patient flow and reducing bottlenecks
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments (Finance, Marketing, HR, Data, IT) to implement scalable, technology-enabled systems that enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Champion best practices for referral management, patient communication, and staff engagement to drive sustained growth
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field required; MBA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of multi-site healthcare operations leadership, with preference for experience in dental, oral surgery, or other medical specialties
- Demonstrated track record of driving organic growth, optimizing revenue streams, and improving EBITDA performance
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L management and budget oversight
- Proven success in leading process improvement initiatives, implementing standardized workflows, and leveraging technology to improve performance
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders
- Willingness to travel 30–50% of the time to support practices, conduct site visits, and engage with regional teams
