Mid-Level Position – Quality

Job Title: Mobile Quality Inspector

 Job Description:  

This position will mainly be responsible for performing dimensional inspection work on metal parts in a dynamic or field-based environment.   This inspection work will be performed using various measurement tools such as calipers, gages, scanners and other types of 2D and 3D scanning equipment.  Looking for a high attention to detail and the ability to perform inspection of parts using mobile tools. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
• Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
• Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
• Educate production team on quality control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company safety and product quality
• Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED and/or equivalent work experience   
• Technical degree or college education preferred but not required
• Proven experience as a quality control inspector in a manufacturing environment required
• Experience or knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 quality standards is preferred but not required
• Must possess excellent communication skills 
• Proven history of understanding industry safety standards and quality expectations 
• Strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry 

Physical Demands:

·         Required to use computer, calipers, scanners, micrometers and other measuring devices. 

·         Required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.

·         Work involves long periods of standing.

·         Must be able to read, see, hear, and speak.

·         Occasional exposure to unpleasant elements such as loud noises, fumes, etc.

·         Required to work in groups and individually as needed without conflict.

·         Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment, such as safety glasses, as needed.

Compensation:

Wage based on experience for all positions
