The NYISO invites applications for a full-time co-op intern on our Market Solutions Engineering team to focus on supporting the Market Design and Operations teams.
This intern will work closely with the Market Solutions Engineering team to validate new concepts on the NM platform, including leveraging the rerun functionality within NM to perform studies on historical days. This co-op intern will use the validation tools to rerun a large volume of save cases using the new validation tools developed within the Market Solutions Engineering team.
Qualifications include:
- Current enrollment in a graduate program focused in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Understanding of Linux and Python desired
- Familiarity with the concept of wholesale markets
- At least one completed course on optimization and/or familiarity with concepts of linear programming
Qualifications include:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of linear programming models.
- Working knowledge of AMPL, GMS, or equivalent optimization programming language.
- Experience with Gurobi solver, Linux, and Python is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
