We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to join our team and manage our financial operations on-site.

Position Summary

The In-House Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong experience in QuickBooks and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process all accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and follow-up on outstanding payments.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals as needed.
  • Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Maintain and update QuickBooks records regularly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience using QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Must be able to work on-site at our Philadelphia Navy Yard location.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in a small business environment.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and HR processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
