JOB OVERVIEW
As part of the Public, Legal and Corporate Affairs branch of the National Capital Commission, you are part of the Strategic Media division, which tells the NCC's story in a strategic, coherent, and innovative manner while contributing to the achievement of corporate objectives.
As a member of Strategic Media’s leadership team, you are responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring corporate communications and marketing strategies, plans, and campaigns. You also contribute to overseeing the NCC’s content strategy and optimizing the web, social media, and digital communications platforms.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
• A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Communications or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
• Five (05) to eight (08) years of experience in communications and/or marketing.
KNOWLEDGE
1. Knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in communications and digital marketing is required to remain current with industry advancements, identify opportunities for innovation, and propose strategic initiatives to enhance the NCC's outreach efforts.
2. Knowledge of project management principles is required to effectively plan, coordinate, and execute strategic communications and marketing projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource optimization, effective collaboration and adherence to quality standards within budget and timeline constraints.
3. Knowledge of NCC’s policies and guidelines pertaining to digital communications is required to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and standards while developing and implementing digital communication strategies and campaigns.
ABILITIES
1. Analytical skills are required to provide strategic directions to communications management and program delivery frameworks and products; manage program and project team initiatives; and provide strategic and high-level advice to executives and management.
2. Communication skills are required to convey ideas, instructions, and feedback clearly and effectively to team members, stakeholders, and senior management; to lead and facilitate discussions for the development of strategies to address and resolve issues. Collaboration and networking skills are required to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure communications are consistent with organizational priorities and to achieve common goals and objectives in digital communications.
3. Human Resources Responsibilities: Manages a team, assigning program-work to communications and marketing professionals. This includes establishing objectives, goals, priorities, schedules, work plans and training plans; providing direction, advice, and guidance; and evaluating performance.
4. Financial responsibilities: Delegated authority to procure goods and services within the Delegation of Financial Signing Authority limits.

• Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace at 40 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario.
