Work Shift
Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Pathologist to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. This is an excellent opportunity to work at a leading healthcare institution in Austell, Georgia, known for its patient-centered care and innovative medical services. The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with subspecialty expertise in areas such as Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, or Hematopathology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnostic pathology services, including the interpretation of surgical pathology, cytology, and clinical laboratory tests.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare providers to support patient care.
- Conduct (gross and) microscopic examination of specimens and prepare diagnostic reports.
- Supervise and guide laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in hospital committees.
- Engage in teaching and mentorship opportunities for medical students, residents, and fellows (if applicable).
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).
- Subspecialty fellowship training is preferred (e.g., Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, Gyn, GU).
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.
- Strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to quality patient care.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and accurately.
