Job Title: Event Coordinator
Department Name: College Events
Reports To: Assistant Director of Events & Conference Operations
Pay Rate: High-Level Hourly Rate ($12.75/hr)
Description of the Position:
Event Coordinators are current students responsible for many of the activities related to the efficient operation of the College Events office. This includes but is not limited to event location set-up, delivery of specialty items, catering support, office administration, and miscellaneous projects as assigned. Event Coordinators will work an average of 5-10 hours per week, between the hours of 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Event Coordinators may work shifts on Saturday & Sunday as needed. Preference may be given to candidates with a valid drivers’ license, though it is not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Deliver, set up, manage meeting spaces which could include, but not limited to, tables/chairs, stages, media equipment, and signage.
· Perform customer service operations such as handling guest arrival & departure, explaining procedures, giving directions, and reporting needs/concerns.
· Provide on-site support for programming and engage critically with event operations: follow a run of show, anticipate event needs, and communicate frequently and efficiently with College Events staff. Events shifts will include evenings and weekends.
· Work with a variety of St. Olaf departments to assure the success of all events.
· General office work: Storage organization, data entry, calling clients, preparing registration materials, inventory, errands, etc.
· Driving: Those who meet the St. Olaf fleet vehicle driving requirements will be asked to drive campus vehicles around campus and into Northfield.
· Completing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Must be a current St. Olaf student in good academic and disciplinary standing. Previous experience in hospitality, event management, and/or technology and media is desired, but not required. Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for long periods of time. Preference may be given to candidates with a valid drivers’ license, though it is not required.
