Job Description
Associate Manager- Pricing owns the development and execution of pricing strategies for their
high volume/profile assigned categories, and influences business stakeholders by providing in-
depth, category and channel specific pricing analysis and recommendations across pricing
capabilities. With the evolution of the pricing organization, this individual may also be called
upon to lead various special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute Clearance, Open Box, and Competitive Pricing Strategies to
optimize profit, manage at-risk inventory and/or drive Price Perception
• Partner with Category Teams to develop promotional strategies that impact business
and enterprise goals
• Act as an integration point between Pricing and Merchant teams. Develop strong, trust-
infused relationships with these teams by compiling persuasive arguments to help guide
pricing-related decisions
• Demonstrate team leadership by contributing to team development through mentorship,
sharing of best practices, and/or project/capability leadership
• Leadership of workstreams/initiatives/committees that impact the broader Pricing and/or
cross-functional teams
Performance Analysis
• Conduct detailed, category-specific, analysis to ensure prices meet category level
goals.
• Track pricing performance against financial goals and key performance indicators;
identify risks and opportunities which may impact overall performance
• Perform self-driven identification of broad business risks and opportunities
• Provide analysis and actionable recommendations, across pricing capabilities, including
forecasted and actual financial impacts of proposed pricing actions
Communication and Influence
• Present insights/recommendations to Category Teams and other cross functional
partners in a clear and concise manner that drives understanding and action
Partner with cross-functional teams (Retail Ops, Demand Planning, Category Teams,
Space Management, Bestbuy.com, Secondary Markets, Finance, etc...) and lead
initiatives to improve financial results, ensure alignment of price strategy and seamless
execution of pricing-related priorities.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
• Demonstrate a teachable proficiency and support continuous improvement of current
state processes, tools, and reporting through collaboration and quality control processes
• Engage in enhancement and development discussions around pricing tools, including
UAT testing, model deployment, etc.
Basic Requirements
• 4 or more years experience performing quantitative/financial analysis, pricing or
promotion management, or business analysis within a retail, consulting or consumer-
oriented industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• 2 or more years experience influencing others and providing leadership level updates
Preferred Requirements
• Demonstrated ability to build strong trust infused relationships
• Experience in retail industry in pricing, inventory management, merchandising and/or
finance
• Process improvement and/or project management skills
