The Director of Organizational Communications will use in-depth organizational communication knowledge, proven leadership abilities, enterprise planning and process improvement skills to drive the development and successful execution of communications strategies for large and complex organizational initiatives, including overseeing a new and expanding portfolio of patient and visitor communications strategies.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Organizational Communications, the Director will serve as a senior member of the team leading an expanding set of responsibilities for Organizational Communications, including strategic communications planning and execution; patient and visitor communications; internal and employee communications; crisis and disaster planning and support; and coordination with health system entities on strategic organizational initiatives. The Director will be tasked with developing and implementing a broad and diverse range of communications initiatives that address priorities and needs across the institution, and that touch a variety of internal workforce audiences and external patient and visitor audiences through innovative storytelling approaches across multiple channels and formats. The Director will also support management of the Organizational Communications team’s duties, providing day-to-day management of select team members; leading strategic planning for cross-functional institutional projects that demand contributions from multiple Marketing & Communications Department teams; and maximizing the efficacy of the organization’s communication response through strategic decision-making and innovative technology solutions.
Serving as a strategic lead and relationship builder, the Director will partner with leadership across the health system, cultivating strong collaborative relationships and leveraging communication principles, strategies and initiatives to further the institution’s goals, mission, values and priorities. The Director will actively drive strategic initiatives forward by writing, editing and guiding high-profile communications needs, creating compelling presentations, developing executive-level decks and presenting recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders. The Director will identify and assemble the team most appropriate to address the execution of strategic, multi-pronged communications campaigns that demand contributions from multiple MarComm teams, while incorporating technology tools, expanding storytelling capabilities across diverse channels and formats and utilizing data-driven approaches to enhance communication effectiveness and audience engagement.
The Director will possess superb writing and editing skills as well as a robust capacity to confidently and calmly execute multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, while demonstrating a keen ability to collaboratively problem-solve communications challenges and problems in a highly matrixed organization.

Qualifications
Applicants are required to submit resume and three (3) writing samples demonstrating expertise in internal communications, executive communications and crisis communications. Samples may be redacted for confidentiality.
EDUCATION
Minimum requirement - bachelors degree - Communications, Business or Marketing
WORK EXPERIENCE
7 years minimum prior communication experience related to journalism, public relations/media relations or marketing
