Hybrid After School Child Care Worker bei Horry County Schools

Job Title:      After School Child Care Worker (Positive Pay) 
Supervisor:  Reports to After School Child Care Site Supervisor
Terms of Employment:  180 Days

Job Summary
Provide continuous supervision and interaction with the children and to plan and participate in activities for small groups on a daily basis.

Hours
As designated by the school administration

Essential Duties

• Arrive promptly and remain for the specified time.
• Supervise children constantly, never leaving them unattended.
• Assist children when necessary with hygiene needs.
• Assist children with assignments and activities.
• Assist the site supervisor with providing all daily services and reports.
• Coordinate planned activities as determined by the site supervisor.
• Provide assistance in distributing snacks, supplies, etc.
• Refer serious discipline problems to the site supervisor.
• Attend all staff meetings and training sessions related to an afterschool program.

• High School Diploma
• Possess good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and parents of students in the program
• Possess knowledge of the physical, mental, and emotional development of young children
• Certification in Red Cross first aid and CPR/AED
• Have a positive attitude toward working with young children

• Physically capable of lifting 40 lbs
• Sufficiently mobile to ensure the safety of students and to participate in activities
• Able to be active for an extended period of time
• Able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
