TMHNA is seeking an experienced and strategic HR Leader to provide comprehensive human resources support and guidance to our network of equity dealers.

 

This role will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, ensuring alignment of HR practices across the network while supporting compliance, culture, and operational consistency. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with both internal stakeholders, equity dealer principals and HR professionals, including TINA (Toyota Industries North America) and the TMHNA Distribution Management team, to strengthen people practices and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with dealers to understand their unique business needs and deliver tailored HR solutions that support growth, performance, and a positive workplace culture. 

 

 Key Responsibilities:

 

Dealer Network HR Support 

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for TMHNA’s equity dealers, offering strategic and operational guidance across all areas of human resources. 
  • Share HR best practices and support the development and implementation of dealer-specific programs and policies that align with TMHNA’s values, culture, and business objectives. 
  • Assess current HR policies and programs across equity dealers and identify opportunities for alignment and standardization. 
  • Ensure equity dealers are fully compliant with Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) guidelines related to HR reporting, communication protocols, and associate training initiatives. 
  • Conduct regular touchpoints and working sessions with dealer leadership to evaluate HR health, address concerns, and support ongoing development. 
  • Facilitate the adoption of HR technology, tools, and analytics to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency within the dealer network. 
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues and act as a liaison between dealers and TMHNA when necessary. 
  • Support talent development and succession planning initiatives across the dealer network to ensure long-term organizational health. 
  • Support and provide oversight to executive compensation programs for equity-owned dealers, including base pay, bonus structures, incentive programs, and equity-based plans (as applicable). 
  • Provide detailed analysis, modeling, and reporting to support decision-making related to executive compensation. 
  • In collaboration with Toyota Industries North America (TINA), lead HR onboarding and integration processes for newly acquired dealerships, including due diligence, transition planning, employee communication, and systems/process adoption. 
  • Act as a liaison between acquired dealer HR teams and internal departments to ensure a smooth and consistent onboarding experience. 
  • Support cultural integration and change management strategies to retain talent and maintain operational continuity. 

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR is strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on multi-site or network-based support, including experience in executive compensation and M&A or post-acquisition integration. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, regulatory, and HR best practices. 
  • Proven experience advising and influencing senior leadership and external partners. 
  • Experience supporting field-based or decentralized businesses (e.g., dealership, retail, or franchise environments) is highly desirable. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills. 
  • Excellent communication, consulting, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support on-site engagement and acquisition activities with equity dealers.
