Overview:

Location: Quincy, IL
Pay Range: $16.12 – $24.18 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Hours vary based on departmental needs

 

About the Role:
The Lead Phlebotomist will oversee daily phlebotomy operations, providing guidance and support to team members while ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to established procedures. This role includes performing venipuncture and specimen collection, coordinating schedules, maintaining inventory, and serving as a liaison between staff and the Phlebotomy Coordinator.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the phlebotomy team, providing training and performance feedback.

  • Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures according to protocol.

  • Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of specimens.

  • Monitor supply inventory and order as needed.

  • Assist with scheduling and ensure adequate coverage for the department.

  • Maintain compliance with all safety, regulatory, and quality control requirements.

  • Provide excellent patient service and promote a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in phlebotomy; leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on departmental needs.
